The definition of the word mensch is “decent human being”. We’ve developed some expectations, based on Jewish values, for behavior in the classrooms and synagogue. Check out our Mensch Money Poster for a chart of the values, which is also posted in all of the classrooms. When a student is observed behaving accordingly, they will be given a replica shekel. We will have a Mensch Market at the beginning of January, March, and May, where the kids can spend their shekels on things such as pencils, novelty items, small toys, books, etc.
For larger items, if you have toys or other things around that your child is no longer interested in, and you think someone else might be, please consider donating them to the Mensch Market for resale. You can drop items off in the resource room at any time.
